Ryoo Seung-bum is said to be about to join a new project that is already intriguing fans: Dealera Netflix drama that mixes casino, special powers and a descent into a dangerous criminal world. According to the Korean press, the actor has received an offer for the lead role and is currently examining the proposal carefully. His agency, Y1 Entertainment, confirmed that it was studying the project, but that no decision had yet been taken.
A casino, superpowers... and a life turned upside down
"Dealer" takes place behind the scenes of a casino, where glamorous appearances hide much darker stakes. The story follows a croupier who, to save his endangered wedding plans, is forced to awaken long-buried powers, leading him into a risky criminal spiral.
Ryoo Seung-bum could play Hwang Chi-soo, an Oceanland casino employee. A former salesman for a major corporation, he once led a perfectly ordinary life with his wife. But his tendency to dawdle and shirk responsibility eventually caused everything to explode: divorce, financial ruin and professional wandering. For the past 5 years, he's been surviving as a "shill", an ambiguous role responsible for running the gaming tables. His life changes for good the day he gets mixed up with Jung Geon-hwa, a young 4th-grade dealer, and finds himself plunged into an adventure as dangerous as it is unpredictable.
Jung So-min as a bride-to-be ready for anything?
In October, Jung So-min was approached to play Jung Geon-hwa, a bride-to-be determined to reach the altar at all costs. Her character, drawn unwillingly into a criminal spiral, would form an explosive and unexpected duo with that of Ryoo Seung-bum. If the actor accepts, it will be his grand return to the world of gambling and casinos, 6 years after the film Tazza: One Eyed Jack. Fans are already looking forward to seeing this duo evolve in a nervous and spectacular thriller.
