Ten years after making the hearts of TV viewers beat faster, Reply 1988 has a birthday to match its legend. On December 1, tvN and channel fullmoon unveiled a long-awaited teaser: the entire Ssangmun-dong family reunites for a 2-day, 1-night trip, bringing together faces that have become legendary.
Among them will be Hyeri, Park Bo-gum, Ryu Jun-yeol, as well as "family" stalwarts such as Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa and Ra Mi-ran. A rare reunion, given how much schedules have changed in a decade.
A poster like a leap into the past
The first poster puts Hyeri at the center, true to the spirit of Deok-seon, surrounded by her parents and lifelong friends, including Park Bo-gum aka Choi Taek. The slogan behind them "We listen. We respond. Nostalgia responds." acts like a time machine.
The teaser video reinforces this impression: we see the characters gathered for a group photo, as if straight out of the back alleys of Ssangmun-dong. Ra Mi-ran hilariously declares: "It's so hard to get everyone together" ... reminding us that this reunion is almost a miracle.
Ten years later, the same heat
Despite the years and the international careers, the atmosphere remains intact: complicity, laughter and looks full of memories. This anniversary special promises never-before-heard discussions, anecdotes from the shoot and, above all, the human warmth that has made the series such a monument.
