A few weeks before its release, « Positively Yours »intensifies anticipation by revealing new posters and a teaser which highlight the conflicting emotions of its four main characters. This romantic comedy, adapted from a popular webtoon, promises to be a sincere exploration of relationships that take unexpected turns.
Certainties that waver from the very first night
At the heart of the story, Kang Doo-joon (Choi Jin-hyuk), CEO of Taehan Liquor and second-generation heir, appears to be impeccably confident. Yet his eyes betray a deep loneliness. His line, «If I am the father... then let's do it. Love, let's do it seriously,»,
reveals an unexpected blend of responsibility, fear, and sincere enthusiasm.
Facing him, Jang Hee-won (Oh Yeon-seo) embodies absolute professional success: brilliant, ambitious, and fiercely opposed to marriage. She states bluntly, «I can say without hesitation that marriage is not for me in this life.» But this certainty wavers after a night she never planned, triggering a series of changes beyond her control.
The teaser highlights this contrast between two workaholics who are convinced that work is enough to fill their lives. The question then becomes inevitable: can they really keep their promise to remain single?
When friendship clashes with love
Two key characters gravitate around this central duo, whose emotions take on an increasingly important role. Cha Min-wook (Hong Jong-hyun), Hee-won's best friend for 15 years, appears with a bouquet of flowers in his hand, ready to face what he has long refused to name. His confession, as sweet as it is painful, comes out bluntly: «Friendship... I don't think it was that. Looking back, there hasn't been a single day when I didn't love you.»
On his side, Hwang Mi-ran (Dasom), Hee-won's close friend, brings a completely different energy. Smiling and confident, she doesn't hesitate to tempt fate with a direct statement:
«Cha Min-wook, will you go out with me? Kindness is my weakness.»
Between long-standing friendships, new attractions, and ill-timed feelings, Positively Yours depicts a love quadrangle in which each character moves forward without being sure of the direction to take. The teaser hints at tensions, subtle jealousies, and moments of sincerity, promising a romance that is both lighthearted and emotionally charged.
