SBS unveils « Phantom Lawyer«a legal drama that is as offbeat as it is moving, carried by Yoo Yeon-seok and Esom. Through a special teaser unveiled during the 2025 SBS Drama Awards, The series promises an explosive mix of criminal investigations, supernatural humor, and unexpected emotions.
A lawyer, ghosts... and cases that never close
At the heart of Phantom Lawyer, we discover Shin Yi-rang (Yoo Yeon-seok), a lawyer who can see and, more importantly, be possessed by ghosts. Convinced that he can build « the best law firm there is »Yi-rang initially presents himself as an ambitious and confident lawyer. But reality soon catches up with him: disturbing whispers, mysterious talismans, burning incense... until a spirit suddenly appears, floating upside down.
From then on, Yi-rang unwittingly becomes the vessel for tormented souls seeking justice. With each possession, he undergoes a radical transformation, embodying in turn a rising idol, a genius scientist, and other figures from broken lives. Age, gender, profession: no limits remain, leading him into situations as absurd as they are dangerous, between clashes with gangsters and deadly confrontations.
Between supernatural chaos and deeply human compassion
Behind this series of chaotic possessions, however, lies a sincere heart. Despite the falls, injuries, and repeated nausea, Yi-rang persists, uttering a phrase that sums it all up: «If I don't do this, who will listen to their stories?»
Facing him, Han Na-hyun (Esom) brings a whole new energy to the table. An elite lawyer at the Taebaek law firm, known for her impeccable win rate, she deeply distrusts Yi-rang after an incomprehensible defeat at his hands. Cold, rational, and methodical, she is the exact opposite of her improvised partner. However, as she gets closer to the supernatural cases he handles, she begins to unravel the mystery and may well become his most valuable ally.
Between humor, emotions, and reflections on justice and listening to the marginalized, Phantom Lawyer promises a unique story, where even the dead still have things to say.
The series will be broadcast in March 2026 on SBS.
