SBS's new fantasy courtroom drama « Phantom Lawyer «begins to intrigue with the revelation of the first images from’Esom in an opposite role. Elegant, cold and methodical, the actress plays an elite lawyer whose apparent perfection conceals flaws that run much deeper than they appear.
Blending the supernatural, legal investigation and restrained emotions, Phantom Lawyer follows Shin Yi-rang, a lawyer who can see ghosts, and Han Na-hyun, a formidable jurist known for never losing a case. Together, they attempt to resolve the grudges left by some unusual clients: spirits unable to move on.

An elite lawyer in absolute control
As Han Na-hyun, Esom plays a star lawyer at the prestigious Taebaek law firm, located in the coveted Seocho judicial district. Her reputation is well established: a 100 % success rate, a rational approach and surgical efficiency. For her, emotions have no place in court.
The first images of the drama underline this total mastery. Impeccably cut black suit, confident gaze, inflexible posture: Han Na-hyun commands respect as soon as she enters a courtroom. Even standing still, she exudes the aura of a professional who leaves nothing to chance and always chooses the most direct route to victory.

When the wounds of the past surface
But behind this irreproachable façade lies a woman marked by a painful past. Han Na-hyun carries wounds that she has carefully buried under a shell of coldness and logic. Gradually, these cracks begin to appear, notably through her encounter with Shin Yi-rang, played by Yoo Yeon-seok.
Unlike her, Yi-rang believes above all in people's stories, in their deepest motivations, even when they come from the beyond. Her unexpected entry into the spiritual world becomes a turning point, forcing Han Na-hyun to question her strictly rational vision of law, but also of life. Their relationship oscillates between ideological clashes and unexpected collaborations, bringing a constant emotional tension to the story.
The production team describes Han Na-hyun as a character driven by logic and results, whose evolution will be at the heart of the drama. Esom's performance promises to navigate between icy charisma and restrained fragility, giving Phantom Lawyer a human dimension beyond its supernatural concept.
The drama Phantom Lawyer will be broadcast from March 13, every Friday and Saturday at 9:50pm (KST) on SBS (awaiting international distribution).
