SBS has officially set the air date for its new Friday-Saturday drama, « Phantom Lawyer« with the publication of a teaser poster with an atmosphere as intriguing as it is quirky. The series brings together Yoo Yeon-seok and Esom in a legal universe where the supernatural invades without warning.
A law firm like no other
Phantom Lawyer follows Shin Yi-rang, an ordinary lawyer who suddenly finds himself able to see ghosts. His path crosses that of Han Na-hyun, an elite lawyer renowned for her intelligence and composure. Together, they will defend unusual clients: spirits unable to rest until their past injustices have been righted... by the law.
The teaser poster gives a first glimpse of the place where it all begins: the mysterious room 501 of the Okcheon building. The space is loaded with symbols (talismans stuck to the walls, zodiac signs, incense smoke wafting through the air), contrasting with the incongruous presence of a legal code placed in the center. The slogan «We defend the invisible truth» perfectly sums up the spirit of the drama.
It's in this office, obtained by chance, that Shin Yi-rang is about to embark on a series of cases as strange as they are unexpected, mixing the world of the living with the world of the dead.
Between fantasy and emotion, a different kind of justice
The production team explains that they wanted to condense the drama's identity through this poster:
«With this teaser, we sought to visually translate the character and atmosphere of the space called “Shin Yi-rang's cabinet”. As this is a drama where a fantastical concept fits naturally into a realistic forensic setting, we aim to offer viewers fresh entertainment that's neither too heavy nor too light.»
This statement hints at a series capable of juggling discreet humor, sincere emotion and human reflections, without ever losing sight of its narrative heart: regrets, unspoken words and truths that even death can't silence.
Phantom Lawyer will be broadcast from March 13 at 9:50pm (KST) on SBS (waiting for an international platform).
