MBC's new drama « Perfect Crown »continues to unveil its universe with new images featuring IU and Byeon Woo-seok in their respective roles.
Set in an alternative reality where modern Korea is a constitutional monarchythe series tells the story of Sung Hee-joo and Grand Prince Yi An, 2 figures from very different worlds whose union will turn the country upside down.
An heiress and a prince separated by their status
IU embodies Sung Hee-joo, manager of the Castle Beauty company. Beautiful, talented and extremely wealthy, she seems to have it all.
And yet, in a society where the power of the aristocracy is still very strong, she constantly comes up against the limits of her status: that of a "woman". and a child born out of wedlock.
Facing her, Byeon Woo-seok play Prince Yi An, 2nd son of the king. Although admired by the public for his good looks and natural elegance, he lives in the shadow of the royal family. His position obliges him to remain discreet, never seeking the limelight.
A wedding that shakes a whole country
When Sung Hee-joo and Prince Yi An suddenly announce their wedding, the monarchical Korea of the 21st century was immediately shaken by the news.
Many are wondering about the real reason behind this unexpected union between a business heiress and a member of the royal family.
The newly-released images show various stages in their relationship, from their student days at the Royal School, which hint at a shared past, right up to their gradual rapprochement after their marriage.
Their initial meeting, as influential figures representing business and royalty respectively, seems to evolve into a deeper relationship.
What remains to be discovered is the inevitable story that led these two characters, separated by their social status, to become husband and wife.
The drama «Perfect Crown» will be broadcast from April 10 at 9:40pm (KST) on MBC.
