MBC's next drama « Perfect Crown »continues to unveil its universe with the publication of a new group poster. This poster highlights the four key characters who will be at the center of power games involving monarchy, politics and wealth.
The story takes place in an alternative universe where modern Korea has become a constitutional monarchy. The drama will tell the complex relationship between Sung Hee-jooembodied by IU, heiress to a powerful conglomerate, and the great prince Yi Anplayed by Byeon Woo-seok.
Despite her wealth and influence, Sung Hee-joo remains a commoner in the eyes of the royal family. Yi An is the king's son, but he lives in the shadows and possesses neither real power nor personal wealth.
Four figures at the center of power
The poster also reveals two other influential characters: Queen Mother Yoon Yi-rang (performed by Gong Seung-yeon) and Prime Minister Min Jung-woo (played by Noh Sang-hyun). Together, these four figures represent the pillars of royal, political and economic power.
Placed at the center of the palace with an imposing aura, they already hint at the tensions and alliances that could form as the story unfolds.
Sung Hee-joo, the only commoner in the group, rests her arm lightly on Yi An's shoulder, while he naturally leans towards her. This gesture suggests that, beyond their contractual marriage born of ambition, the two characters have come to develop a genuine trust in each other.
Complex relationships at the palace
Alongside them, Queen Mother Yoon Yi-rang and Prime Minister Min Jung-woo stare intently at the goal. Their presence reinforces the idea that the relationships between these four characters will be closely linked to the political intrigues and struggles for influence around the throne.
The poster is accompanied by a phrase that perfectly sums up the atmosphere of the series: «The door to the royal family has opened.»
The drama will be broadcast from April 10 at 9:40pm (KST) on MBC (waiting for an international OTT).
