MBC and Disney+ have unveiled first official images from Byeon Woo-seok in his next drama « Perfect Crown« offering a striking insight into a prince as discreet as he was beloved by the public.
Scheduled for broadcast in April, set in an alternative South Korea governed by a modern constitutional monarchy, the series features a romance where social status weighs as much as destiny.
A prince condemned to obscurity... but adored by all
In Perfect Crown, Byeon Woo-seok plays the great Prince Yi An, younger brother of the deceased king. Born into an immutable constraint (that of being the second son), he grew up deliberately in the background, never seeking to shine or impose himself. His place in the royal family is clear: never raise your voice, never attract attention.
And yet, the paradox is complete. In the public eye, Yi An is elected «most beloved member of the royal family of the Republic of Korea».». His elegant bearing, natural restraint and quiet dignity make him a universally respected, almost idealized figure.
Recently published photos show him perfectly at ease in his official capacity, with his impeccable suit, upright posture and steady gaze. Even in his quieter moments, when he's reading or enjoying a moment's respite, Yi An retains that regal aura that seems innate.
