The chain KBS2 has unveiled new images from its upcoming daily drama « Pearl in Red« featuring three key characters whose emotional choices will profoundly alter the plot.
At the heart of the series is a story of intense vengeance, as two women return under false identities to reveal the sins and buried secrets of the powerful Adele family. Park Jin-hee plays Kim Dan-hee, who abandons her own existence after discovering the tragic truth about her twin sister, while Nam Sang-ji plays Baek Jin-joo, who returned as Chloe Lee after losing everything.
Two heirs, one family, opposing visions
The new images focus on Park Min-joon (Kim Kyung-bo), the «half-recognized» heir to the Adele band and central figure in the story. Wearing a gentle, reassuring smile, Min-joon is distinguished by his calm, approachable temperament. Caught up in a fierce struggle for succession, he aspires neither to power nor domination, but to a free life guided by love.
However, as he seeks to protect his loved ones, a cold determination gradually emerges. A silent transformation that will eventually shake the balance of the Adele group.
Opposite him stands Park Hyun-joon (Kang Da-bin), his half-brother. More carefree, Hyun-joon rejects all-consuming ambitions and prefers to tread lightly through life, without getting caught up in power games or family greed.
When jealousy becomes irreversible
In contrast to these two men, Choi Yoo-na (Chun Hee-joo) embodies a figure consumed by jealousy. Behind her apparent self-control, Yoo-na hides a deep-seated anxiety and an obsessive desire to be loved. Rejected by Park Min-joon, she crosses an irreversible line in a desperate attempt to win his heart.
Her trajectory brings her into direct confrontation with Baek Jin-joo, making her a formidable antagonist who intensifies the series' dramatic tension. Motivated by the same sentiment (love) but driven towards radically different paths, Min-joon, Hyun-joon and Yoo-na embody the many faces of desire, obsession and sacrifice.
The drama will air from February 23, à 7:50pm (KST) on KBS2 (waiting for an OTT).
