Fans of Park Shin-hye will be delighted: the actress, recently acclaimed for her role in The Judge From Hell, is set to return to the small screen with Miss Undercover Boss (working title), an office comedy with a refreshing concept.
The synopsis
This new tvN series plunges us into the late 90s, at the height of the Asian financial crisis, better known as the MFI crisis. It follows Hong Geum-bo, a brilliant financial supervision inspector who has dedicated her whole life to her work. To investigate potential fraud at a brokerage firm, she uses her youthful appearance to pass herself off as a simple office worker, just graduated from high school. Between thankless paperwork, unexpected colleagues and misunderstandings, her infiltration promises a cascade of funny and unexpected situations.
Casting confirmation
The Park Shin-hye who brings this dual character to life: an icy professional, but also an awkward beginner trying to blend in while keeping her mission a secret. Face her, Go Kyeong-pyorecently seen in Frankly Speaking and Love in Contract, will play Shin Jung-woo, the brand-new CEO of Hanmin Securities. An expert in restructuring, this ruthless boss firmly believes that only numbers tell the truth. But his meeting with Hong Geum-bo, who bears the same face as his lost love, will complicate everything.
The cast doesn't stop there: Ha Yoon-kyung will play the role of Go Bok-hee, the Hanmin Securities chairman's colorful secretary, who juggles internal rivalries and dormitory life, while Cho Han Gyeol will lend his features to Albert Oh, the chairman's grandson, who is passionate about cinema but totally disinterested in the world of finance, until the mysterious Geum Bo piques his curiosity.
And the icing on the cake for K-pop fans: Yuna, ITZY memberwill make her acting debut in this eagerly-awaited drama. She will play Hong Jang-mi, Geum Bo's younger sister, herself a high-ranking inspector, adding a promising family dynamic to the plot.
With the director Park Sun-ho (A Business Proposal, Suspicious Partner) and screenwriter Moon Hyun-kyung (Into the Ring) at the helm, Miss Undercover Boss promises a cocktail of humor, nostalgia and social satire. It is scheduled for broadcast in the first half of 2026.
