tvN is preparing a tasty new office comedy entitled " Undercover Ms. Hong" whose first script reading recently brought together a promising cast. Set in the late 1990s, the story follows an ambitious woman who changes her identity to uncover the truth in the secretive world of finance.
Park Shin-hye plays Hong Geum-bo, an elite financial supervision inspector in her thirties, who, after spotting suspicious financial movements, accepts an undercover assignment. She poses as Hong Jang-mi, a 20-year-old rookie who has just been recruited by a securities firm. Between strict suits and trainee uniforms, the actress alternates effortlessly between professional assurance and feigned naiveté. "Each character really comes to life. You can feel that this undercover mission is going to make hearts beat faster. I can't wait for the public to discover it", she confided after the session.
Unexpected encounters in the offices of Hanmin Securities
Go Kyung-pyo plays the role of Shin Jung-woo, a management consultant turned CEO, rigid and obsessed with numbers. Their duet, between icy rivalry and budding chemistry, promises intense yet light-hearted moments. "It's an honor to be working together. We'll do everything we can to make it a real pleasure to watch," said Go Kyung-pyo.
At their side, Ha Yoon-kyung plays Go Bok-hee, secretary to the company president and big sister of dorm 301, where Geum-bo lives undercover. The complicity between the two women promises to be touching and funny, with welcome scenes of sisterhood and support. "The dynamic between Geum-bo and Bok-hee will be a highlight of the series, I'm sure," she assured. The roommate atmosphere will be enhanced by the presence of Choi Ji-soo and Kang Chae-young, who play two other young women in the dormitory.
The drama also has a strong supporting cast. Cho Han-gyeol plays Albert Oh, grandson of the company president, a film buff who joined the company by plunge. He promises to bring a breath of eccentric freshness.
And a surprise on the casting front: Yuna from the group ITZY will be making her acting debut in a special role, playing Park Shin-hye's younger sister, adding an extra generational touch to the story.
The cast also includes veteran actors such as Lee Deok-hwa, Kim Do-hyun, Jang Do-ha, Seo Hyun-chul, Im Chul-soo, Kim Hyung-mook, Park Mi-hyun, Byun Jung-soo, Kim Won-hae, Han Soo-ho, Lee Soo-mi, Kim Young-woong and Jung Yi-rang, bringing even more depth to the production. ITZY's Yuna will also be making her acting debut with a special appearance as Hong Jang-mi, Hong Geum-bo's younger sister.
Directed by Park Sun-ho, already at the helm of Business Proposal and Wok of Lovewritten by Moon Hyun-kyung, Undercover Ms. Hong promises to be a mix of mystery, humor and nostalgia, all supported by a four-star cast. As Ha Yun-kyung summarized: "The atmosphere is great, and the script is really fun. I think it's an excellent drama. The story is full of secrets, so stay tuned!"
