JTBC has just unveiled its next romantic drama " Waiting for Kyeongdo "(working title), and the first image already promises a story that's both touching and full of freshness.
This new project brings together Park Seo-joon, one of the most popular actors on the small screen, and Won Ji-an, a rising star, in an emotionally-charged romantic comedy. The story follows Lee Kyeong-do, a journalist in the entertainment section of Dongwoon Daily, and Seo Ji-woo, a celebrity with a rebellious streak.
A love that is reborn with every encounter
The 2 characters meet for the first time at the age of 20 and experience their first love, made up of awkward confidences, passionate rendezvous and painful break-ups. 8 years later, at the age of 28, fate brings them together again... only to separate them even further. And yet, life seems determined to bring them together once again.
In the present, their new encounter is not lacking in spice: Kyeong Do investigates an infidelity scandal, while Ji Woo is now married to the man at the heart of the affair. Between memories of the past and the tensions of the present, their story takes a turn that is as unpredictable as it is moving.
The first shot unveiled shows the characters in their youth, dressed in matching outfits, smiling and carefree. These images capture all the innocence of a budding love, where we can already sense the fragile closeness that brings them together as much as it distances them.
In fact, the production confided that it wanted to offer viewers "a romance that will remind everyone of their first love, awkward but sincere, tender but courageous". The drama thus promises to navigate between the ardor of twenty-somethings and the maturity of adult feelings, buoyed by the nuanced acting of its two lead actors.
"Waiting for Kyeongdo" is scheduled for the second half of 2025 (we'd heard December 2025, to be reconfirmed).
