tvN's new comedy-drama, Mission: The Birthday Invitationpromises to be both a touching and funny story, carried by two talented actors, Park Jin-joo and Jeon Seong-woo. Scheduled for October 8 at 10:50 p.m. (KST), the series features an unexpected encounter between former rivals, transformed into parents forced to cooperate for the sake of their children.

A professional rivalry transformed into a family mission
The story follows Park Ki-joon (Jeon Seong-woo), an awkward single father who, after a divorce, struggles to look after his daughter alone. His life takes a turn when he runs into Seo Hee-jin (Park Jin-joo), once his employee, but now an experienced mother of 7 years. By chance, their children become kindergarten friends, leading Ki-joon to request an invitation to Hee-jin's son's birthday party, triggering a series of situations as funny as they are moving.
Between Ki-joon's clumsiness, as she discovers the art of braiding hair or choosing a dress at the market, and Hee-jin's cold but benevolent attitude, a new dynamic is set in motion. The roles are reversed: the former boss, who once fired her, now finds himself learning from her. This reversal paves the way for an unexpected complicity, made up of jabs, little tensions and sincere moments.
A story of healing and rediscovery
Behind the humor of everyday situations, Mission: The Birthday Invitation explores universal themes: the challenges of single parenthood, the need to reinvent oneself and the importance of solidarity. Gradually, Ki-joon confides in Hee-jin: "Thanks to you, I think I'm finally beginning to understand my daughter", a phrase that marks the beginning of a rapprochement between them.
The drama promises a mix of lightness and depth, showing how 2 adults, once opposites in the world of work, can find a new form of understanding through their love for their children. Between laughter, awkwardness and tenderness, the series looks set to conquer the hearts of viewers in search of emotion and freshness.
