The drama “The Scarecrow” continues to reveal itself with the first images of Park Hae-soo in his role as a detective. The actor plays a character as instinctive as he is unpredictable, plunged into a serial murder case.
Between tension, investigation and conflicting relationships, the drama promises an intense thriller set against a backdrop of rivalry.
A detective outside the rules
Park Hae-soo plays Kang Tae-joo, an investigator renowned for his keen powers of observation and intuition. After being demoted, he is sent back to his hometown of Gangseong, where he soon finds himself involved in a series of murders.
But this new mission comes with a major challenge: he has to work with Cha Si-young (Lee Hee-joon), a prosecutor with whom he shares a conflicted past dating back to their school days.
The unveiled images highlight Kang Tae-joo's atypical character. Where his colleagues display a strict, disciplined attitude, he stands out with a more casual look, between relaxed posture and piercing gaze.
A survey marked by tensions
As the crimes pile up, Kang Tae-joo finds himself at the heart of an increasingly complex investigation. His instincts drive him to pursue the truth at all costs, even if it means working with the man he hates most.
Actor Park Hae-soo shared his thoughts on the role: «I don't know how fair Kang Tae-joo is, but he's a man to be proud of. Faced with a series of brutal murders, he sincerely tries to understand and comfort the pain of the victims and those around them. Even when he fails, faces obstacles and struggles, he continues to fight injustice.»
He adds, «I was attracted by the way she accepted her weaknesses and dealt with them.»
With a plot spanning several decades and a duo marked as much by hatred as by the need to cooperate, “The Scarecrow” promises to be a dark and gripping thriller.
The drama will air from April 20 at 10pm (Korean time) on ENA (awaiting an international platform).
