The drama “The Scarecrow”continues to ramp up its intensity with the release of a new trailer, revealing a dark and tense investigation led by Park Hae-soo, Lee Hee-joon and Kwak Sun-young.

This thriller follows a detective faced with a series of murders, forced to collaborate with a man he deeply despises. A fragile alliance that spans several decades.

An investigation that links past and present

Set between 1988 and 2019, the story revolves around a serial murder case that is shaking up the city of Gangseong.

Park Hae-soo plays Kang Tae-joo, a detective obsessed with tracking down the real culprit. In the trailer, he declares to a suspect: “I've finally found you - the murderer I've been looking for.”

His investigation leads him to Cha Si-young, a prosecutor played by Lee Hee-joon, who is also a former school rival. Their relationship is immediately marked by tension. Tae-joo asserts: “You do your job, I'll do mine”, while Si-young coldly reminds him: “Inspector Kang, you seem to forget that I'm a prosecutor before I'm your friend.”

The confrontation reaches a breaking point when Tae-joo snaps: “If you call me your friend again, I'll kill you.”

A fragile alliance in the face of growing mystery

Despite their hostility, the two men eventually join forces. Tae-joo finally proposes: “Let's catch him together”, starting a collaboration that is as unstable as it is necessary.

Alongside them, Seo Ji-won, a journalist and close friend of the detective, joins the investigation with determination: “I'll help you catch the culprit, so just wait.”

But as the case progresses, the line between justice and truth becomes increasingly blurred. The drama's tagline, “Do justice to the crime or bury it?”, casts doubt on the outcome of this hunt.

The ominous presence of the mysterious “Scarecrow”, whose barely visible smile heightens the suspense, promises a plot full of twists and turns.

“The Scarecrow” will air from April 20 at 10pm (Korean time) on ENA (awaiting OTT).
