Disney+ has released the first images of Gold Land, a thriller in which Park Bo-young, Kim Sung-cheol and Lee Hyun-wook become embroiled in a gold-smuggling affair that is set to turn their lives upside down. The drama was introduced at the Disney+ Originals Preview 2025 in Hong Kong, in the presence of cast and director Kim Sung-hoon.

The story begins when a security guard at an international airport stumbles across ingots linked to illegal trafficking. A discovery that will bring out the worst in those around her... and perhaps in her.
When a simple accident triggers a spiral of temptations
Park Bo-young plays Hee Joo, a control officer used to spotting anomalies, but not to becoming the heart of a scandal. When gold accidentally lands in her hands, she initially tries to keep a cool head... before doubt sets in. "At first I think it's not mine, but at some point I ask myself: 'What if I kept it?'" the actress confides. She adds, "You'll see how that thought gradually changes her."
This psychological evolution is at the heart of the drama, where gold becomes a mirror revealing everyone's moral fragility.

Between debt, manipulation and pretense
Kim Sung-cheol plays Jang-wook, nicknamed Woo Gi, a debt collector constantly on the brink. When he discovers that Hee Joo has the ingots, he approaches her feigning empathy. "My character is a survivor running from one crisis to the next, and it's this struggle to stay alive that makes him so fascinating," he explains.
Lee Hyun-wook plays Lee Do-kyung, Hee Joo's co-pilot and boyfriend, the very man who unwittingly dragged her into the affair. His murky intentions fuel the suspense. The actor explains: "My role shows the raw greed that arises in the face of gold. I hope viewers will ask themselves what choice they would make."
Gold Land will be broadcast on Disney+ in 2026.
