Park Bo-young stars in Gold Land, the explosive new K-drama announced by Disney+.

Disney+ once again focuses on Korean talent with Gold Landa K-drama with a five-star cast scheduled for 2026. At the heart of this breathtakingly suspenseful series : Park Bo-young, in a role radically different from her previous appearances.

Known for her gentleness and sensitivity in dramas such as Strong Woman Do Bong-soon and Doom at Your Service, Park Bo-young takes a bold turn. She plays Kim Hee Joo, a security guard at an international airport, whose life is turned upside down the day she stumbles into possession of gold ingots linked to illegal trafficking. Lust, betrayal and power struggles soon surround her, pushing her into a spiral where she must choose between morality and temptation.

The actress promises an intense performance and says: "I can't wait to try a new genre. Hee Joo at first seems indifferent to this gold, but she evolves in the face of her own desires."

A prestigious cast for a dark and tense series

At his side, Kim Sung-Cheol (Sweet Home, Arthdal Chronicles) plays Jang Wook, a gang member both protective and menacing, whose ambiguous intentions add constant tension to the plot. Lee Hyun-Wook (Mine, Remarriage & Desires) plays Lee Do Kyung, an airplane co-pilot with a double face: both in love with Hee Joo... and responsible for her involvement in the affair.

We'll also see Kim Hee-Won (Vincenzo) as a stubborn detective, Moon Jung-Hee as a strong-willed mother, and Lee Kwang-Soo in an unexpected role as the manager of an underground casino called "Gold Land".

A crack team behind the camera

This promising project is directed by Kim Seong-Hun, renowned for its rhythmic, immersive mise-en-scène (Confidential Assignment, Rampant), and written by Hwang Jo-Yoon, who penned the screenplays for Oldboy, Masquerade and Memoir of a Murderer.

With its explosive mix of thriller, emotion and psychological tension, Gold Land promises to be one of the most eagerly awaited dramas of 2026. A must-see event for K-drama fans ready to plunge into a dark, unpredictable and captivating story.
