Ten years after the broadcast of «Reply 1988,» one of the most beloved dramas in tvN's history, its iconic cast is reuniting to give fans a very special gift. To mark this symbolic anniversary, new rearranged versions of the series' original songs will be unveiled, performed live by the actors themselves.
Park Bo-gum solo, then a musical gathering in the Ssangmundong neighborhood
The musical celebration will begin with the release of the’OST Part 1, scheduled for December 19, including a solo track performed by Park Bo-gum. A week later, on December 26, OST Part 2 will complete the project with two tracks: one sung by the drama's «mothers» (Lee Il-hwa, Ra Mi-ran, and Kim Sun-young) and the other by the famous «children of Ssangmundong,» featuring Ryu Hye-young, Hyeri, Ko Kyung-pyo, Ryu Jun-yeol, Park Bo-gum, Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Dong-hwi, and Choi Sung-won.
Director Shin Won-ho explained the thinking behind the project: «We prepared this OST as a gift for fans who have continued to love the drama over the past 10 years.»
A musical tribute filled with emotion and memories
OST producer Ma Joo-hee emphasizes the unique emotional dimension of these new songs: «You will be able to feel emotions that only the actors, who built the story together through their characters, can convey. Just as the original OST instantly evokes the drama, the 10th anniversary OST of Reply 1988 is composed of songs capable of awakening precious memories that remain engraved in our hearts.»
At the same time, a 3 episodes specials dedicated to the 10th anniversary of Reply 1988 will be broadcast starting on December 19, 8:40pm (KST). On the same day, OST Part 1 will also be available on major music platforms starting at 6 p.m. (KST).
