With just a few days to go, the new drama from tvN and Viki, « Our Universe« is becoming clearer. Supported by Bae In-hyuk, Roh Jeong-eui and Park Seo-ham, The series promises a gentle, restorative romance centered on family, grief and rebuilding.
“Our Universe” tells the story of Woo Hyun-jin and Sun Tae-hyung, a brother- and sister-in-law who deeply distrust each other, but are forced by circumstances to live together to raise their 20-month-old nephew Woo Joo, after the sudden loss of their elders. An unexpected cohabitation that gradually becomes the starting point for mutual healing... and a budding love.
Healing, growing and loving again
Bae In-hyuk plays Sun Tae-hyung, a talented photographer's assistant with a cold exterior but a deeply tender heart. He describes the drama as «a series that brings comfort and pleasant laughter», adding that it's important to pay attention to «the wounds each character carries within them, how they evolve and how they manage to overcome them».
The actor also thanked viewers: «I'm really grateful to everyone who's been waiting for this drama. We worked hard with the whole team, and with our lovely Woo Joo. I hope you enjoy watching it. Please also feel free to give lots of love to Park Yoo-ho, who plays Woo Joo.»
Roh Jeong-eui, who plays Woo Hyun-jin, a bright young woman about to enter the world of work, invites the audience to observe the evolution of the central relationship closely: «I'd like you to pay attention to the relationship between Hyun-jin and Tae-hyung. Take a good look at how their bond gradually evolves, in new and interesting ways.»
She also stresses the importance of little Woo Joo: «Look forward to his first appearance. Park Yoo-ho's adorable charm, with its wide range of expressions, is bound to make you fall in love.»
For his part, Park Seo-ham plays Park Yoon-sung, Hyun-jin's first love, a handsome and accomplished man. He confides: «I hope you'll pay attention not only to what happens when Yoon-sung and Hyun-jin meet again, but also to the hidden loneliness and untold story of this character who could be described as “perfect”.»
A warm environment to raise Woo Joo
Beyond the main trio, “Our Universe” relies on a gallery of secondary characters to provide warmth, humor and emotional support. The new visuals feature the Yuseong Villa, who become an essential pillar for Hyun-jin and Tae-hyung in their role as improvised parents.
Kang Ae-shim plays Park Ae-ja, a kind-hearted neighbor and reassuring mother figure always ready to help. Alongside her, Bae Du-sik (Kim In-kwon), self-proclaimed long-time resident and self-assured gossip, adds a welcome touch of comedy.
The young couple below, Kim Ji-hyun (Han Ji-hyo) and Lee Jae-min (Lim Sung-jun), breathes a lighter energy, while Jin Seo-yeon impresses in the role of Amy Chu, charismatic photographer star and absolute model for Tae-hyung. Her husband and manager Jo Moo-saeng is played by Koo Sung-hwan.
Finally, Tae-hyung can count on Kim Ui-jun (Oh Hyun-joong) and Oh Seung-taek (Yoon Woo), while Hyun-jin is supported by her long-time best friend Baek Se-yeon (Choi Gyu-ri). They all contribute to creating a rich, supportive and deeply human universe.
“Our Universe” will be broadcast from February 4, à 22h40 (KST) on tvN, and will be available internationally on Viki.
