Victims of phone scams don't usually get justice. But in the new thriller from MBN, No Mercya woman decides to stop putting up with it and to fight back. Expected on September 24 at 9:30pm (KST)the drama features Lee Joo-young and Junhoe from iKON in a breathtaking battle against one of Korea's most terrifying criminal networks.
Revenge born of despair
The plot follows Ha So Min (Lee Joo Young), a young woman whose life is turned upside down when a network of voice phishing her parents. Broken but determined, she infiltrates the dreaded organization Ilseongpaeven using deepfake to trap opponents and exact revenge.
Her character poster sets the tone: "Mom, I'm sorry. I'll find those bastards and I'll get even." A chilling promise that illustrates the darkness of her quest.
Facing her, Ma Seok Gu (Ji Seung Hyun), leader of Ilseongpa, embodies cruelty in its purest form. His slogan leaves no doubt: "You know what's easiest for me? Killing someone and making them my mascot." An unscrupulous enemy, ready to do anything to maintain control.
But Ha So Min is not alone. She finds support in Park Jeong Hoon (iKON's Junhoe), an elite detective who is both warm-hearted and determined. His message to So Min ("Then trust me. Trust me rather than the law.") underlines the intensity of a budding bond, between duty and emotion, in a battle where official justice seems outdated.
A tightly-wound teaser
The trailer opens with an anonymous call demanding money in exchange for the return of So Min's mother, who disappeared after an accident. It soon becomes clear that these disappearances and threats are orchestrated by Ilseongpa. As So Min tries to locate Ma Seok Gu, the latter coldly promises: "One by one, the people around you will suffer. I'll make sure of it."
Between car chases, violent assaults and psychological tension, No Mercy promises a story that's not to be missed. intense, brutal and emotionally chargedwhere every phone call can mean death.
Why this drama is already attracting attention
With an extremely topical subject: telephone and digital scams that destroy lives, No Mercy is positioned as a social thriller as much as a human drama. Carried by a charismatic Lee Joo Young and a Junhoe in uncharted territory, this drama could well mark the fall season with its intensity and realism.
