Netflix prepares «Granny», a revenge K-drama starring Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yeol

Netflix is currently developing a new original K-drama entitled « Granny »adapted from the webtoon of the same name. The series will star Lee Jung-eun and Kim Moo-yeol, already known for sharing the screen in several productions.

Directed by Han Dong-wook and produced by Studio Dragon in collaboration with Sanae Pictures, the project blends action, thriller and emotion around an unexpected concept: a grandmother seeking revenge.

Revenge born of tragedy

The story follows Jung Suk-ja, a woman whose grandson Kwon Yong-hui means everything to her. Her life is turned upside down when he falls into a coma after an assault, while the perpetrators, members of the Black Star gang, are set free despite the evidence.

One day, 2 men offer to train her so that she can take revenge and dismantle the criminal organization. Hesitant at first, she accepts and begins to track down the culprits one by one.

A familiar collaboration

Lee Jung-eun will play the determined grandmother Jung Suk-ja. The actress is particularly familiar with Netflix productions, and has already made her mark on viewers in numerous dramas and films.

Kim Moo-yeol will play Seo Yeon-u. The two actors previously starred together in «Juvenile Justice», which already raises expectations of their chemistry.

The project is still in development, and filming is due to begin shortly. No official date has yet been announced, but a release date could be in 2027 if production begins soon.
