Netflix reveals the release date of its new k-drama Trigger

June 25, 2025, Netflix has confirmed the launch date of its long-awaited new series, Triggerscheduled for July 25. This action thriller promises to shake up the platform's subscribers with a tense, suspenseful plot featuring 2 men confronted with a chaotic situation that shakes the foundations of society.

Trigger's plot

Trigger takes place in near-future South Korea, a country where firearms ownership is strictly forbidden. However, a series of violent incidents erupt due to the sudden appearance of illegal weapons, delivered in mysterious ways. Kim Nam-gilan actor acclaimed for his intense roles, plays Lee Do, a policeman who takes up arms to bring justice to this growing threat. At his side, Kim Young-kwang plays Moon Baek, an enigmatic character who helps him at gun-related crime scenes.

The teaser, already explosive, begins with a punchy narration: "Everyone carries a trigger in their heart".followed by deafening gunfire, revealing boxes of unknown weapons being delivered across the country. This discovery triggers a chain of tensions and confrontations that highlight the growing danger of this crisis. Moon Baek asks the question that sows anguish: "What if everyone in Korea had a gun?" This questioning sharpens the tension throughout the story.

Director Kwon Oh-seung, known for his unique approach to thrillers, defines Trigger as a story in which situations that anyone could imagine are transformed into dizzying reality.
