A new dramatic project could soon mark the return of Nam Joo-hyuk on the small screen. On January 28, Korean media revealed that the actor had been offered the lead role in a new drama entitled «Code: Faust Game» (working title).

His agency quickly confirmed the news, saying that Nam Joo-hyuk was currently reviewing the project positively. If the deal goes ahead, it would be a long-awaited collaboration with director Yoo Soo-min, known for his hard-hitting work on the series Weak Hero.
A thriller about desire and its consequences
Code: Faust Game is the adaptation of a successful Taiwanese drama broadcast in two seasons, in 2016 and 2019. The story hinges on a mysterious app capable of granting its users' wishes. But behind the seductive promise lies a price to pay, shedding light on human desires, their drifts and the sometimes irreversible consequences of the choices made.
With this concept, the series aims to explore the boundary between temptation and morality, in a tense, psychological atmosphere that fits well with the director's universe.
A project to be followed closely after The East Palace
At the same time, Nam Joo-hyuk is already preparing for the release of The East Palace, a Netflix drama due for release in the third quarter of this year. This possible new project would confirm his desire to move into darker, more intense roles.
No final decision has yet been announced concerning Code: Faust Game, But the combination of a proven concept, an acclaimed director and Nam Joo-hyuk is enough to arouse a strong curiosity.
