KBS has gone behind the scenes of the first script reading for To My Beloved Thief, its future historical drama combining romance, adventure and soul-swapping. An opportunity to catch a glimpse of a cast already deeply invested in their roles, led by Nam Ji-hyun and Moon Sang-min.

A story of crossed destinies, soul-swapping and Joseon romance
The series tells the story of Hong Eun-jo, a court physician from a modest background, and Prince Yi Yeol, the king's youngest son. As the prince pursues this mysterious bandit... a strange magic makes them exchange souls. Between impossible situations, unexpected emotions and political threats, the two protagonists end up saving each other, and protecting the people.

During playback, Nam Ji-hyun brought Hong Eun-jo to life with the outspoken energy of a woman who never lets her social status dictate her thoughts. Her direct way of speaking immediately drew a courageous heroine, ready to stand up to anyone, even in a world where her voice is not supposed to count.
Moon Sang-min, as Prince Yi Yeol, displayed a charming blend of obsession, mischief and righteousness. His interpretation of the moment when Yi Yeol finds himself fascinated by Eun-jo, his total opposite, offered a touch of sparkling romance during the syncopated exchange with Nam Ji-hyun.

An already harmonious cast and an immersive atmosphere
Hong Min-ki, who plays Im Jae-yi, the youngest son of an all-powerful aristocratic family, revealed a calm, magnetic presence. Han So-eun, on the other hand, brought freshness and gentleness to Shin Hae-rim, a dreamy noblewoman who believes in love.

As the reading progressed, the actors gradually found their common rhythm, already giving a glimpse of the tension, humor, romance and power plays that will weave the plot. Even without costumes or sets, the drama's atmosphere already seemed palpable.
To My Beloved Thief will make its debut on January 3, 2026 at 9:20 pm (KST) on KBS (awaiting an international broadcaster).
