Visit July 23KBS 2TV will launch a romantic comedy unlike any other: My Girlfriend Is the Man!. Adapted from a popular webtoon, the series promises to be as funny as it is confusing. And with its third teaser freshly unveiled, the already complex relationships between the characters take another... explosive turn.
When your girlfriend becomes... a man
The pitch? Park Yoon-jae (performed by Yoon San-ha of the group ASTRO), an astronomy student, is madly in love with his girlfriend Kim Ji-eun (played by Arin from OH MY GIRL). But from one day to the next, due to a rare family gene, she is transformed into... a man! She becomes Kim Ji-hoonplayed by Yoo Jung-hoo.
Problem: Kim Ji-hoon remains Kim Ji-eun in her mind, but her physical appearance changes everything. Yoon Jae, distraught, struggles to come to terms with this new reality. He finally confesses to her:
"Honestly, I don't think we can go back to the way we were before."
This was a major blow for Kim Ji Hoon, who proposed a fallback solution: "Until I become a woman again... let's just be friends."
When jealousy enters the equation
But things aren't going to get any easier. Kang Min-joo (performed by Chuu) enters the scene: secretly in love with Yoon Jae, she takes advantage of the confusion to get closer to him. While he's drunk, she caresses his cheek and whispers:
"You're like fluffy white tofu..."
Kim Ji-hoon can't take it any more: he grabs him by the arm and firmly reminds him that Yoon Jae already has a girlfriend. To which Min Joo provocatively retorts:
"So what?"before hugging Yoon Jae in the street!
What if everyone fell in love?
The situation degenerates further when another protagonist, Choi Yoo-ri (Park Ju-won), Kim Ji-hoon's close friend, discovers him in his male form... and falls under his spell! Red with embarrassment, she blurts out without warning:
"Let's go out together."
Meanwhile, Yoon Jae, increasingly lost, finally says: "I need time."
But the teaser concludes with a disturbing double scene a flashback of a kiss between Kim Ji Eun and Yoon Jae... followed by a shot of Yoon Jae pinning Kim Ji Hoon against a wall and saying:
"How about we also try... cheat code?"

My Girlfriend Is the Man! promises to be a modern romantic comedy, full of delirious twists and turns about gender, love and identity. A K-drama that promises as many laughs as touching moments.
