KBS 2TV is set to hit the big time this summer with My Girlfriend Is the Man! a new series inspired by a successful webtoon that promises to shake up the codes of romance. With just a few weeks to go before its first broadcast (beginning July 23), the drama is already making news thanks to photos of its 2 lead actors, Arin (OH MY GIRL) and Yoo Jung-hoo.
The story follows Park Yoon-jae (played by ASTRO's Yoon San-ha), an astronomy student madly in love with his girlfriend Kim Ji-eun.played by Arin. Full of life and self-confidence, Ji Eun is studying Korean literature at Yeonhee University, while enjoying a tender romance with Yoon Jae. But from one day to the next, everything changes: because of a mysterious gene passed on in her family, Ji Eun wakes up transformed... into a man.
This new double face is played by Yoo Jung-hoo, who lends his features to Kim Ji-hoon, Ji Eun's male alter ego. On the inside, Ji Eun remains the same, but her masculine appearance turns her life and relationships upside down. Between insistent stares, misunderstandings and moments of panic, the couple's daily life promises to be full of twists and turns.

First images set the tone On the one hand, we discover Arin at her most studious, during an internship interview where her radiant smile and determination hit home. On the other, Yoo Jung-hoo appears stunned when he discovers his new body in the early hours of the morning, after an ordinary night in patterned pyjamas. A contrast that heralds a fresh, wacky comedy.
The 2 actors were won over by the script from the very first reading.. Arin hopes to convey all Ji Eun's positive energy, despite the rocky situation she finds herself in. As for Yoo Jung-hoo, he invites viewers to identify with Ji Hoon's confusion, while following her evolution towards acceptance of this new self.
The production team salutes Yoo Jung-hoo's commitment, praising her attention to detail and her desire to make this character both believable and endearing. The cast, all close in age, shared a shoot full of laughter and good humor, promising a light, bubbly atmosphere on screen.
