Get ready for a daring mix of suspense, romance and inheritance wars! The drama Ms. Incognito Incognito (착한 여자 부세미), to be broadcast from September 29 on ENAhas just unveiled the behind-the-scenes footage of its first script reading. And to say the least, the dramatic tension was already palpable in the room.
A penniless bodyguard, a false identity
Written by Hyun-kyuri and directed by Park Yoo-young, Ms. Incognito Incognito stars Kim Young-ran, a woman from a modest background (played by Jeon Yeo-been)who accepts a marriage contract with a wealthy, terminally ill company president. The goal? Survive 3 months incognito under a new identity, that of "Boo Semi", while evading those who covet her husband's colossal inheritance.
This romantic thriller promises a veritable hunt for the heiress, against a backdrop of secrets, pretense and power struggles.
Colorful characters
When reading the script, Jeon Yeo-been captivated the audience with her subtle portrayal of the contrast between Boo Semi's tender smile and Kim Young-ran's inner toughness. Her performance reveals a heroine at once vulnerable and determined, torn between survival and truth.
Alongside him, Jinyoung plays Jeon Dong Min, a single father who grows strawberries in the village of Muchang. Behind his apparent calm, he hides a nagging distrust of the stranger who comes to disturb the village's tranquility. Their first interaction, full of tension, heralds a romance as complicated as it is endearing.
Actor Seo Hyun-wooin the role of Lee Don, an unscrupulous lawyer willing to do anything for money, adds a touch of levity with his comic timing and improvisations. The atmosphere in the reading room was often lightened by his well-crafted lines.
Special mention must also go to Jang Yoon-ju, impressive as Ga Sun-young, the daughter-in-law of the chairman of the Gaseong Group, who chills the audience with her calculated coldness. Her presence and piercing gaze perfectly embody an heiress consumed by ambition.
Finally, Joo Hyun-young brings a dose of sparkling energy to her role as the mysterious housekeeper Baek Hye Ji. From a luminous smile to an icy expression in the blink of an eye, she leaves us in no doubt as to her character's true intentions.
