MBC's next drama, Mary Kills Peopleis already shaping up to be one of the most controversial of the year. Inspired by the Canadian series of the same name, this Korean adaptation sheds light on a delicate subject: euthanasia.

In this remake, Lee Bo-young plays Woo So-jung, a doctor who crosses the line of legality by helping patients with incurable diseases to end their suffering. Opposite her, Lee Min-ki plays Jo Hyun-woo, a terminally ill patient condemned by a brain tumor.
A new video teaser
The latest teaser, recently unveiled, plunges viewers straight into the drama's oppressive atmosphere. We hear the pleas of exhausted patients: "Give me this treatment, too" or "I'd be grateful if you could kill me". Between images of collapsing bodies and patients in unbearable pain, Woo So-jung asks a heartbreaking question: "Can we really call this a treatment if all we're doing is prolonging the agony?"
Determined not to look away again, the doctor resolves to act, even if it means crossing a point of no return. In one powerful scene, she is seen approaching a person lying down with a pillow, before a voice asks: "Did they leave in peace?"
But not everyone agrees with his radical choices. "No matter what reason you give, it's still murder," he is accused. The teaser raises doubts about the fine line between compassion and crime, notably when a desperate Jo Hyun-woo knocks on the window of Woo So-jung's car, in a scene full of tension.
MBC is hitting hard with this bold project, which promises to question morality and provoke reactions.
