tvN has officially confirmed the broadcast date of its upcoming thriller « Mad Concrete Dreams« and a sneak preview of the script. An ambitious project Ha Jung-woo, Im Soo-jung and Kim Jun-han, in a story where financial pressure leads to an uncontrollable criminal spiral.
When the dream of ownership becomes a trap
Mad Concrete Dreams follows the journey of Ki Soo Jong, an ordinary family man who finally succeeds in owning a building after taking out heavy loans. But this coveted dream soon turns into a nightmare: overwhelmed by debt, he agrees to take part in a fake kidnapping designed to raise money. A plan that goes horribly wrong when the staged kidnapping turns into a far more dangerous reality.
Ha Jung-woo plays Ki Soo-jong, a man ready to do anything to protect his family and possessions. When the script was read, the actor immediately set the tone, intensely embodying the distress, fear and determination of a man pushed to his very limits.

Highly anticipated returns and tension already palpable
Im Soo-jung plays Kim Sun, Soo Jong's wife. Calm in the face of crisis, she is able to turn seemingly hopeless situations around with unexpected choices. From the very first reading, the complicity and precision of the acting between the two actors impressed the whole team, giving each scene an almost palpable tension.

Kim Jun-han and Krystal embody a couple close to the main duo, drawn unwillingly into a succession of unpredictable events. Kim Jun-han plays Min Hwal-seong, Soo-jong's close friend, driven by fierce ambition, while Krystal plays Jeon Yi-kyung, daughter of a powerful real estate investor, whose apparent self-assurance conceals a deep inner emptiness.

Shim Eun-kyung completes the cast as Yo Na, an enigmatic figure working for Real Capital, imposing his presence from the very first readings with a masterful, authoritative performance.

This project marks a long-awaited comeback: Ha Jung-woo returns to the small screen for the first time in 19 years, confiding at the reading: «It's been a very long time since I shot a drama. I want to create a really entertaining project.» Im Soo-jung also marks her return after a 5-year absence, and shares her enthusiasm: «I think this project will allow me to show a different side of myself, through a role that represents a real challenge.»
The series will be broadcast from March 14 at 9:10pm (KST) on tvN.
