As the broadcast of Surely Tomorrowthe creative team made no secret of their enthusiasm for the lead duo. Director Im Hyun-wook and screenwriter Yoo Young-ah gave their impressions of the choice of Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an, whom they consider "obvious" to carry the series.

Two opposing souls, a natural alchemy
The director describes his heroes as two opposing forces destined to attract each other: "Lee Gyeong-do is like a deep-rooted tree, capable of withstanding any storm. Seo Ji-woo, on the other hand, is a flickering candle in the wind, fragile but luminous in her own way."

Finding actors capable of embodying this opposition was essential: "We looked for actors who could convey this contrast naturally. Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an captured the emotional tone of their characters with remarkable precision."
"I felt like I was seeing Gyeong-do and Ji-woo for real".
For Im Hyun-wook, romance is all about one thing: chemistry. "In love, it's all about the charm of the actors, the charm of the characters, and the spark that is created when the two meet. On the set, I often felt as if I were facing Gyeong-do and Ji-woo in person."

The director adds that he relied on restraint as much as intensity: "I concentrated on how to bring out the tension and tenderness naturally, to capture the moments when each shone brightest."
Screenwriter Yoo Young-ah shares this sense of certainty: "When I first met Park Seo-joon, the whole team thought: 'We've finally found Gyeong-do.'" She goes on to say of Won Ji-an: "In person, she's even more striking than she is on screen. Her beauty and presence were such a match for Seo Ji-woo that I was genuinely pleased."

It's a rare kind of trust, foreshadowing a romance as delicate as it is memorable.
First broadcast on December 6 on Prime Video.
