A prince with a free life but a lonely heart

Lee Shin-young lends his features to Lee Woona cousin of Crown Prince Lee Kang (played by Kang Tae-oh). Once heir to the throne himself, he was deposed following a mysterious event. Rather than harbor ambition to regain his lost power, he accepts his fate and leads a detached existence, savoring the pleasures of daily life.

However, his past status constantly exposes him to the suspicion and scrutiny of others. Behind his apparent lightness, he conceals a profound solitude, marked by years of silently swallowing his isolation. This duality between a carefree exterior and a melancholy interiority gives the character his complexity.

Images between freedom and melancholy

The first shots reveal Lee Woon sitting in the shade of a tree, immersed in a book, or strolling freely through the market, surrounded by onlookers. Scenes that contrast with the usual image of a prince, and underline his taste for a simple life.

The wait for Lee Shin-young

Lee Shin-young, who has already played some outstanding roles (from the taciturn North Korean soldier to the nobleman embroiled in torments of love), is poised here to deliver a performance imbued with subtlety and depth. Audiences can't wait to see how he brings to life this ambivalent character, torn between freedom and solitude.
