The next drama from ENA, « Honor« continues to unveil the deep story that links its three heroines. Inspired by a Swedish series, this mystery/thriller follows three lawyers confronted with a major scandal from their past.
Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae and Lee Chung-ah are the founding partners of L&J (Listen and Join), specialized in defending victims of crimes against women.
A friendship forged over 20 years
Yoon Ra-young, Kang Shin-jae and Hwang Hyun-jin have known each other since their university days. Friends for over 20 years, they built L&J together, with a clear mission: to listen to victims and stand by their side. The firm's name reflects this philosophy, already expressed in an earlier teaser through a powerful phrase uttered by Yoon Ra-young: «We wanted to become the person we desperately needed at the time.»
But behind this shared vocation lies a darker origin. Their alliance goes beyond mere friendship or professional ambition. An event 20 years ago, still kept secret, seems to be the real starting point of their commitment... and the invisible cement of their solidarity.
Solidarity, survival and mutual protection
Lee Na-young describes the emotional core of the relationship between the 3 women as «a feeling of solidarity that goes beyond friendship, based on sharing the same secret». She explains that their bond is built around survival and honor, a relationship capable of withstanding the cracks, as they protect each other at all costs.
For her part, Jung Eun-chae highlights the silent strength of a 20-year friendship, made up of unspoken understandings, shared values and temperaments shaped over time. She emphasizes that «the beginning of every story lies in tragic fate and solidarity», suggesting that their past continues to profoundly influence their present choices.
For Lee Chung-ah, the essence of their relationship is more instinctive. According to her, what unites them above all is «the desire to protect each other». Beyond love, friendship or even justice, it's this vital need for mutual security that has sustained their bond and guided their decisions.
The production team specifies that «the solidarity embodied by Lee Na-young, Jung Eun-chae and Lee Chung-ah goes beyond mere comfort: it will at times be raw, even devastating», inviting viewers to follow the gradual revelation of the link between the incident twenty years ago and the L&J firm of today.
