Recognized actress Lee Jung-eunknown for her deep, nuanced roles, may soon be making her debut in a action drama34 years after its debut.
On October 24, several Korean media outlets reported that the star had been chosen to play the lead role in the upcoming K-drama Grannyadaptation of Jaehoo's eponymous webtoon. His agency confirmed that it had received the script and said it would positively considered the offer.

The synopsis
In Granny, a 70-year-old woman runs a gun store with her husband. Their daily lives are turned upside down when their only grandson becomes the victim of an act of violence. Determined to uncover the truth, Granny begins her own investigation, tracing the young man's former colleagues and a case of assault that has gone unreported. Her search leads her to a fearsome criminalA mysterious proposal changes the course of his life.
Lee Jung-eun will play Jung Sook-jathe grandmother who will do anything to avenge her grandson. Despite the many action scenes the role demands, the actress would have been deeply moved by the story to the point of accepting the challenge, seeing in this project a rare opportunity to broaden his register.
Granny will be directed by Han Dong-wook, whose credits include The Worst of Evil, and co-produced by Sanai Pictures and Studio Dragon. Shooting is scheduled to start next year.
Lee Jung-eun recently appeared in the drama A Hundred Memories and will soon be casting Doctor X: Age of the White Mafia, alongside Kim Ji-won, Son Hyun-joo and Kim Woo-seok. She will also special appearance in Disney+ drama Knock Off with roles in The Mutation and The Journey to Gyeong-ju.
