Typhoon Family is a hit on Netflix, and many of you love Lee Jun-ho. Good news: the actor isn't stopping there. After King the Land in 2024 and his outstanding role in Typhoon Family, he'll be back in December in a brand new Netflix drama. An ambitious, surprising and totally different project: Cashero, a series in which he plays a hero... whose superpowers depend on the money in his pocket. Yes, really. And that's precisely what makes this story as original as it is promising. We tell you all about it.

A reluctant hero... who literally pays for his superpowers
Cashero tells the story of Kang Sang-ung, a community center worker who leads a simple life and dreams only of becoming a homeowner. Everything changes when he inherits superhuman power... with one totally unexpected condition: his strength depends on the exact amount of money he has on him. The more cash he has, the more powerful he becomes. But every time he uses his abilities, his wallet is emptied.
For Sang-ung, this power quickly becomes a headache. How can he save the world when his savings melt away with every blow? Fortunately, he can count on his girlfriend Kim Min-suk, played by Kim Hye-joon, a brilliant, down-to-earth young woman who's unbeatable at mental arithmetic. Together, they try to figure out how to reconcile daily life, tight finances and heroic responsibilities.

Sang-ung's daily life is turned upside down even more when he discovers that he's not the only one with extraordinary abilities.. A strange lawyer, Byeon Ho-in, played by Kim Byong-chul, approaches him and introduces him to the Korean Superhero Coalition. His own power? It's triggered when he drinks alcohol.
They are joined by Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi), a functioning telekineticist... to pastries! The more calories she consumes, the more effective her powers become. Together, this atypical group becomes the last line of defense against a criminal organization that hunts down those with supernatural gifts.

A Netflix blockbuster with a four-star cast
Adapted from the popular Kakao webtoon, Cashero is directed by Lee Chang-min and written by Lee Jane and Jeon Chan-ho. The drama promises an explosive mix of action, humor, social criticism and humanity, carried by an impeccable cast.

Lee Jun-ho, already adored for his roles in The Red Sleeve and King the Land, plays a flawed but terribly endearing hero, caught between his very ordinary dreams and an expensive destiny. Kim Hye-joon, who made her name in Inspector Koo and A Shop for Killers, provides a dynamic, intelligent duo. As for Kim Byong-chul, his presence guarantees a character as charismatic as he is unpredictable.
We also note the appearance of Lee Chae-min and Kang Han-na who both shone in Bon appétit, your majesty this summer.
Cashero promises to be one of the most original series of 2025, blending superpowers, financial stakes, wry humor and fast-paced action scenes.
The release is scheduled for December 26, 2025 on Netflix, just in time to close out the year with a superheroic drama that promises to be one of a kind. Stay tuned for more info on one of the most eagerly awaited dramas of the end of the year!
