On August 2, JTBC will be launching Esquire, a brand-new drama that will take viewers behind the scenes of a major law firm. Starring Lee Jin-wook and Jung Chae-yeon (recently seen in Family by Choice), the series will mix generational confrontation, professional demands and personal wounds.

The synopsis
At the heart of the story is Hyo Min, a young lawyer full of principles but still clumsy in her human relations. Played by Jung Chae-yeonShe joins the prestigious Yulim law firm, determined to make her mark despite her lack of experience in the cut-throat world of corporate life.
Opposite her, Yoon Seok-hoon, played by Lee Jin-wook, is the superior everyone fears... and admires.. A partner in the firm and leader of the litigation team, he is renowned for his formidable pleadings, sharp wit and sense of courtroom strategy. Seok Hoon is the very image of perfectionism: punctual, demanding, precise. His apparent coolness deters unnecessary conversation, but behind this facade lies a man of principle, capable of sincere respect for those who rise to the occasion.
A 1st video teaser
The teaser unveiled on June 24 illustrates this contrast. It shows a meticulous Seok Hoon lecturing young recruits with scathing irony: "Is saying 'I'm sorry' fashionable these days?". Or: "In the Anglo-Saxon world, ESQ is a title of respect for lawyers. If you want to be called that, behave accordingly."
But this rigid character also reveals a warm side, notably when he says: "I give respect to those who have done their part." A clue that underneath the armor may lie a mentor capable of helping others to evolve... and himself.
According to the production team, Esquire will explore the healing processes experienced by both the clients involved in trials and the lawyers themselves. A human series, where each character bears his or her scars and cracks, but also the hope of renewal.
