KBS2«s new drama, " Cabbage Your Life« is beginning to reveal the first dynamics of its plot... and the romance is clearly not going to be easy.
Through new shots, the series highlights the meeting between Sung Ji-cheon and Im Bo-mi, played by Lee Jin-woo and Choi Gyu-ri, whose rapprochement seems as natural as it is unexpected, in a context marked by strong tensions between their families.
A meeting that changes everything
The story follows the city-dwelling family of Sung Tae-hoon (Park Sung-woong), who are forced to move from Seoul to the village of Yeonriri. A radical change that particularly upsets his eldest son, Sung Ji-cheon.
Ji-cheon, a brilliant student admitted to medical school with a perfect score on the university entrance exam, decides to abandon this path without telling his family. Arriving in Yeonriri, he embarks on a personal quest, far removed from his family's expectations and the life he thought he should lead.
It's in this new environment that he crosses paths with Im Bo-mi, daughter of village chief Im Joo-hyung (Lee Seo-hwan). A committed nutritionist and reassuring figure to the locals, she looks after the students« well-being and has earned herself a reputation as »Yeonriri's health guardian".
Bo-mi's luminous presence soon leaves Ji-cheon unmoved. The first images unveiled show a young man literally captivated by her smile, while Bo-mi gradually begins to notice his attention, setting up a gentle, burgeoning tension.
A love caught between two camps
But this growing attraction does not develop in a peaceful climate. As Sung Tae-hoon tries to make a success of his cabbage-growing business and hopes to return to Seoul, he comes up against the hostility of the village chief, Im Joo-hyung, who harbors a marked distrust of him and his Taste Story business.
Against this backdrop of rivalry, the families clash head-on, putting Ji-cheon and Bo-mi in an awkward position. Despite this, the two young people seem determined to let their feelings evolve, even in secret. The question remains: can their relationship survive the conflicts that divide their parents?
Cabbage Your Life will be broadcast from March 26 at 9:50pm (Korean time) on KBS2.
