While Last Summer Lee Jae-wook spoke of the reasons for his approach. which led him to join this new drama, and about the unique challenge he's about to take on: playing twin brothers on screen for the first time.

A story of first love and buried truths

Last Summer is a romance that follows 2 childhood friends confronted with the wounds and secrets of their past. Baek Do-ha (Lee Jae-wook) is a talented architect and head of Pluto Atelier, while Song Ha-kyung (Choi Sung-eun) works in the town planning administration and dreams of leaving his hometown, Patan.

Friends for 17 years, Do-ha and Ha-kyung had their relationship shattered by an incident 2 years earlier. But fate brings them together again, when Do-ha returns to Patan for still mysterious reasons.

Talking about what attracted him to the script, Lee Jae-wook confided: "When I read the story, I felt soothed and surrounded by warmth. I wanted to convey these emotions through my character."

To describe Baek Do-ha, the actor chose 3 key words: initiative, determination and sensitivity. He describes him as brilliant and ambitious, ready to achieve whatever he sets his mind to.

The challenge of a dual role

In addition to Do-ha, Lee Jae-wook will also play his twin brother, Baek Do-young. It's an unprecedented challenge, which he prepared at length with the director: "I thought long and hard and discussed with the team how to distinguish the 2 personalities. Do-ha embodies optimism, while Do-young is more idealistic."

A mature romance

The actor promises a story in which emotions will evolve gradually, as Do-ha and Ha-kyung reunite: "The heart of this drama lies in the path these 2 characters take to open up to each other again. Last Summer is about time, seasons and people growing together. It's a story you'll want to hold close to you."

Last Summer will be broadcast from November 1 at 9:20pm (KST) and normally on Viki in France.
