KBS 2TV to unveil new romantic drama Last Summer, a story of reunion that explores the fragile boundary between friendship and first love. Starring Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eunThe story follows 2 souls linked since childhood, separated by a mysterious incident, but whose destiny leads them to find each other again.

The return of a forgotten first love
Baek Do-ha, played by Lee Jae-wook, is a talented architect and head of Pluto Atelier. Behind his success, he hides a melancholy that originates in Patan, his hometown. It's there that he meets Song Ha-kyung, played by Choi Sung-eun, an urban planning official who has always dreamed of leaving this place that weighs heavily on her. Their 17-year friendship, brutally interrupted 2 years earlier, resurfaces the moment their eyes meet again.
The new images unveiled by the production intensely convey the complexity of their bond. At first, we discover them sitting, stiff and distant, as if every inch separating them embodied the coldness born of their estrangement. But soon, a meaningful silence settles in, their eyes searching for each other, hinting at an unfinished story. In other, more tender moments, Do Ha observes Ha Kyung with restrained gentleness, while flashbacks reveal two awkward young people, red with shyness, facing their first heartbeats.

Between awkwardness, tension and tenderness, Last Summer promises to be a romance where the unsaid weighs as much as the acted upon, and where repressed love mingles with old wounds. The series promises to capture that universal emotion that is first love, the one that, even after years and misunderstandings, continues to beat silently.
Last Summer goes on air on November 1 at 9:20 p.m. KST on KBS 2TV (awaiting an international distributor), taking audiences on a nostalgic and romantic journey.
