Lee El and Jo Sung-ha track a copycat killer in Queen Mantis

The new thriller Queen Mantisby SBS, continues to unveil itself and has just released new images featuring Lee El and Jo Sung-ha in their detective roles.

An adaptation of a French hit

Inspired by the French series The Mantisthe plot follows Jung Yi-shin (played by Go Hyun-jung), the notorious serial killer nicknamed "The Mantis", responsible for 5 atrocious murders 20 years ago and imprisoned ever since. When new crimes replicating her method appear, the police call on her to try and catch the copycat.

At the center of this explosive investigation, Jang Dong-yoon play Cha Soo-yeolJung Yi-shin's son and detective, who is forced to collaborate with a mother he's always hated.

Detectives with many faces

Alongside Cha Soo-yeol, 2 investigators stand out: Choi Jung-ho (Jo Sung-ha) and Kim Na-hee (Lee El). The new images reveal the complexity of their characters.

At first, Choi Jung-ho appears warm and harmless, with a simple bottle of milk in his hand. But his gaze darkens as soon as he observes the crime scene, revealing a much harsher and more menacing side.

On his side, Lee El undergoes a radical transformation as Kim Na Hee, a sober, pragmatic detective. With her short haircut, neutral clothes and determined attitude, her character stands out for her professionalism and quiet strength.

The production team praised the commitment of the 2 actors: "Jo Sung-ha expressed a charismatic gentleness, while Lee El exuded a powerful energy. Both gave their all to embody intense, believable characters."

With its gripping storyline, ambivalent characters and psychological confrontation between killer and investigators, Queen Mantis is shaping up to be one of the most striking Korean thrillers of the fall season.
