It's official: Lee Do-hyun will make his return to the small screen in Grand Galaxy Hotel, a drama by the famous Hong Sisters (Hong Jung-run and Hong Mi-ran), responsible for such hits as Hotel Del Luna or Alchemy of Souls. The actor, just released from military service in May 2025, has chosen this project as his first post-army work, a highly symbolic choice that also marks his reunion with the writers and director. Oh Choong-hwanwith whom he had already worked.
The female lead role went to Shin Si-ahan up-and-coming actress revealed in The Witch 2 and recently applauded for her role in the drama Resident Playbook. She succeeds Go Min-si, who was initially approached but eventually dropped from the project. Personally chosen by the Hong Sisters, Shin Si-ah confirms her meteoric rise in the world of K-Dramas.
Grand Galaxy Hotel, shooting soon, no synopsis yet
Scheduled to begin filming in the second half of 2025Grand Galaxy Hotel is already generating great anticipation. Although the synopsis is still confidential, the mere mention of the title inevitably brings to mind the dreamlike, mysterious atmosphere of Hotel Del Luna, with which Lee Do-hyun is familiar from his previous work. Indeed, Grand Galaxy Hotel is billed as the male version of 2019's Hotel del Luna, told from the point of view of a male character.
The actor's comeback, much in demand since his discharge from the army, is accompanied by a wave of interest from both Korean and international audiences. As for Shin Si-ah, this collaboration with such a prestigious team could well enable him to reach a new milestone in his career.
Promising cast and renowned creative talents, Grand Galaxy Hotel is shaping up to be one of the leading dramas of 2026.
In the meantime, Fans will be able to meet the actor at fanmeetings in Asia, on an event tour called Re DO HYUN.
