The upcoming drama « Cabbage Your Life »continues to reveal new glimpses of its characters ahead of its broadcast. The series features a city-dwelling family forced to move from Seoul to the rural village of Yeonriri, triggering a succession of chaotic situations as they attempt to return to their former lives.
At the center of the story is Sung Tae-hoon, played by Park Sung-woong. A former executive with a major corporation, his life is turned upside down when a sudden transfer forces him to move his entire family to this small village. Alongside him, Lee Soo-kyung plays Jo Mi-ryeo, a determined mother who has raised their three sons on her own while her husband is absorbed in his work.
The two actors, who previously worked together in the 2024 drama Dog Knows Everything, This time around, they find themselves in the shoes of a married couple faced with a radical lifestyle change.
A city couple confronts the realities of the countryside
The new images show various moments of Sung Tae-hoon and Jo Mi-ryeo's daily life in their new home in Yeonriri. Sung Tae-hoon is seen wearing an apron and taking care of household chores, while his wife gives him piercing glances, revealing a relationship that is both tender and full of tension.
Despite these sometimes explosive exchanges, the couple also show a warmer side when surrounded by other villagers, adding an intriguing dimension to their dynamic.
Protective of his family, Sung Tae-hoon never hesitates to face difficulties. However, faced with this new departure away from the city, he sometimes finds himself cautiously scrutinizing his wife's mood. For her part, Jo Mi-ryeo, who knows nothing about farming or rural life, has to adapt to her new environment with the support of her family.
Yeonriri village's influential couple
Life in Yeonriri wouldn't be complete without its most influential residents. Lee Seo-hwan and Nam Kwon-ah embody the village's emblematic couple: Im Joo-hyung and Nam Hye-sun.
Im Joo-hyung is the village chief, deeply attached to his community. Proud of his role, he readily flaunts his status as local leader, sporting a village chief's armband and a cap in Yeonriri colors. Although he is sometimes hostile towards Sung Tae-hoon's company, he doesn't hide a certain jealousy towards this former executive of a major corporation.
His wife Nam Hye-sun is the village's true authority figure. President of the local women's association, she also runs a café and a hairdressing salon, making her an indispensable source of information for the villagers. Behind her firm, authoritative exterior, however, lies a warm, caring personality.
The new images show their contrasting personalities, between welcoming smiles and surprised expressions, foreshadowing a great deal of tension in this seemingly peaceful village.
The drama Cabbage Your Life will be broadcast from March 26 at 9:50pm (KST).
