Get ready for a behind-the-scenes look at the Korean legal world! On July 5, tvN will launch its new series entitled Law and the City (서초동 in the original version), a comedy-drama that follows the daily lives of five young lawyers in the bustling Seocho-dong district, the nerve center of Seoul's legal scene.
At the center of this story, 5 associate lawyers juggling their files, their ambitions... and their meals. Performed by Lee Jong-suk, Mun Ka-youngKang You-seok, Ryu Hye-young and Im Seong-jae, These young lawyers bring a breath of fresh air to a world often perceived as rigid and austere. Their daily lives are punctuated by gourmet get-togethers, lively discussions and laughter shared over a good meal. Enough to earn them an amusing nickname: the "Avengers of the bar".
Lunch breaks full of life and emotion
The teaser unveiled today by tvN plunges us into a lunchtime scene in Seocho, where between bites of crispy tonkatsu or steaming jjigae, tongues are loosened, hearts are opened and bonds are strengthened. Far from the clichés of legal rivalry, Law and the City shows us a group of colleagues who have become friends, united by solidarity and... an endless appetite!
Behind the humor and greed lies a deeper reflection on work and the meaning of life: "What are we all really after? We work to eat well and live well. A simple, yet universal mantra that will no doubt resonate with many an audience member.
With its endearing cast and feel good and meal scenes that promise to make you crave k-food, Law and the City promises to be a refreshing series for this summer. The first episode will air on tvN on July 5, 2025 at 9:20 p.m. (unfortunately, no information yet on international broadcasters).
