July 1, 2025the cast of Law and the city was gathered at the Link Seoul Tribute Portofolio hotel to present its new drama, Law and the city. Broadcast by tvN from July 5 (Viki in France and abroad), Law and the city follows the daily lives of 5 young lawyers in the Seocho-Dong district, who get together over good food to discuss their work and personal lives.
Lee Jong-suk, Moon Ga-youngKang You-seok, Ryu Hye-young and Im Seong-jae posed for a few official photos and then answered journalists' questions about the new kdrama. We've included a full translation of the press conference below.
In it, Kang You-seok says: "Usually, series about lawyers and judges are filled with dramatic scenes, but our drama focuses on everyday emotions, as it portrays everyday life in Seocho-dong (...) so that viewers realize that lawyers in Seocho-dong are normal people".

It's the first time I've played a character with a clearly defined profession. I was both excited and a little nervous. But it's the same for all of us: playing lawyers means a lot of dialogue, a lot of studying. Despite that, it was very interesting, even satisfying, and I can't wait to see the result.

In fact, this drama is mostly about people's lives. As my colleague said, our scriptwriter is a lawyer, so we could ask him questions and get immediate feedback, which was a real asset. Even though we're lawyers, we're still human: we see how everyone changes and grows in this profession. It gives it a warmer touch.

Lee Jong-suk: Usually, a legal drama is about defeating big bads so that justice can prevail. But here, it's not about life and death, it's about making a living.

It's a different angle. I like intense genres, with a lot of drama. But I asked myself: what haven't I done before? And I wanted to act in a drama that was more everyday, more peaceful, that you could watch quietly.

So Seocho-dong was a natural choice. In my previous drama, I was also a lawyer, but I spent more time in prison than in court. This time, I'm playing a lawyer with nine years' experience, a little jaded, but competent. A mentor you consult for everything: "If you don't know, ask Ahn Ju-young!"
I wanted to make it credible, especially in the courtroom scenes, with fast-paced dialogue and a professional tone. We all had a lot of help from actors and technicians to make it sound real.

Moon Ga-young: To really discover the characters' secrets, you have to watch all the way through! There are lots of hidden things, including scenes we shot in Hong Kong. It'll be more fun if you discover them for yourself.

Lee Jong-suk: Of the five of us, I'm the oldest, with a 20-year career. Sometimes I'd ask the younger ones: "Are you okay? Is my acting believable?" We really talked a lot, and that created a good chemistry between us.
I hope it shows on screen. And I'd like everyone to focus on the evolution of each character. With our senior actors, the story will be even richer.
