Just a few weeks before its launch, Law and The City (Korean title: Seocho-dong) is starting to make waves. Scheduled for July 5 on tvN, this warmly-accented legal drama features 5 young salaried lawyers, all attached to law firms located in the same building in Seoul's Seocho legal district.

Although they each work for a different firm, spread across the floors of the Hyungmin Building, these unusual colleagues get together every lunchtime to share a meal, a moment's respite from the daily grind of files, pressure and crucial decisions. It's a simple routine, but one that soon reveals a wonderful group chemistry and contrasting personalities.

An opposing duo already intriguing

At the heart of the story : Ahn Ju-hyeong (played by Lee Jong-suk), a logical, experienced lawyer who has been with the same firm for 9 years, a rarity in an environment where moving back and forth between firms is commonplace. Calm, methodical and respected, he is a beacon for the other lawyers in the building.

Opposite him, Kang Hui-ji (played by Moon Ga-young), a passionate young lawyer new to the profession. Lively, direct and enthusiastic, she never hesitates to turn to Ahn Ju-hyeong with her questions. While her radiant personality easily disarms those she meets, it seems to have no effect on her colleague, who is as impassive as ever. The cat-and-mouse game between these two promises moments as touching as they are humorous.

A band welded around the table

But Law and The City is more than just a duo. Above all, it's a group affair. Every lunchtime becomes a space for exchanges, confessions and laughter. Bae Mun-jeong, the "captain of meals", always chooses the restaurant carefully, Cho Chang-won plays the clown, Ha Sang-gi listens patiently... These everyday scenes, full of lightness, reveal the bonds that are forged, personal flaws and unexpected solidarities.
