Last Summer: a nostalgic romance with Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun starting in November on KBS

It's going to be an exciting autumn on KBS. From November 1st, every Saturday and Sunday at 9:20 p.m., the channel will broadcast its new mini-series entitled Last Summer (마지막 썸머). Supported by Lee Jae-wook, Choi Sung-eun, Kim Gun-woo and many other talents, this fiction promises a mix of tenderness, buried secrets and first loves never forgotten.

A story of first love rediscovered

The drama will tell the story of 2 childhood friends who, now adults, find themselves confronted with the truth about their very first love, long hidden in a Pandora's box. Last Summer explores the memories and wounds of the past, while offering the protagonists a chance to rebuild their lives.

At the script reading, the whole team came together. The director Min Yeon-hngo and screenwriter Jeon Yoori guided the players, including Lee Jae-wook (Baek Do-ha / Baek Do-young)who takes on the challenge of a double role, playing both a brilliant architect and his twin brother. Choi Sung-eun will play Song Ha-kyunga civil servant specializing in urban planning. From the very first lines, their complicity hit home, reminiscent of the natural alchemy of two true childhood friends.

At their side, Kim Gun-woo will bring Seo Soo-hyuka charismatic lawyer with an impressive track record, who will upset the duo's equilibrium. Jung Bo-minin the role ofLee Seulcompletes this circle of friends with freshness and spontaneity. The rest of the cast, including Kwon Ah-reum, Choi Byung-mo, Jung Hee-tae, Jeon Soo-ji and many others, brings a depth that promises a gallery of varied and endearing characters.

An atmosphere already full of complicity

According to initial feedback, reading the script turned into a real immersion. The actors made their characters their own, creating a warm, lively atmosphere. The exchanges, by turns funny and moving, hinted at a series that would be both tender and poignant.

Interviewed after the session, Lee Jae-wook confided that he felt "a lot of pleasure despite the nervousness", while Choi Sung-eun spoke of an experience "rich in encounters with admirable playing partners". For his part, Kim Gun-woo said that "it was ten times more fun than I expected".

The actors also offered their own insights: Lee Jae-wook emphasized "the unique relationship between Do Ha and Ha Kyung", Choi Sung-eun underlined "the warmth and summer atmosphere that permeate the story", and Kim Gun-woo spoke of "the diversity of summer emotions, all brought together in this drama".

With a solid artistic team, a sensitive pen and a fresh cast, Last Summer promises to be a must-see for November evenings.
