The drama Signal 2, starring Lee Je-Hoon and Kim Hye-Soo, has been put on indefinite hiatus. Entitled « The Second Signal« the sequel to Signal has already finished filming and was originally scheduled for broadcast in 2026 on tvN.
According to several sources, broadcasting has now stalled due to controversies linked to the past of one of the main actors, Jo Jin-woong, as well as his retirement from the entertainment industry. As a result, the drama has been withdrawn from the official tvN 2026 line-up recently unveiled by CJ ENM.
Signal 2 joins the list of dramas “held hostage”, like « Knock Off« where a scandal involving a leading actor puts the work of an entire cast, technical crew and production on hold, despite months - even years - of work already accomplished.
This situation is becoming increasingly common in the industry, and is particularly frustrating for fans and creative teams alike.
