The drama “The Scarecrow”continues to unveil its characters with new images focusing on Kwak Sun-young, who plays a determined journalist at the heart of the investigation.

This thriller follows a detective immersed in a series of murders, forced to collaborate with a man he despises, in a case that spans several decades, between 1988 and 2019.

A journalist committed to the quest for truth

Kwak Sun-young plays Seo Ji-won, a journalist with Gangseong Daily and former classmate of Kang Tae-joo, played by Park Hae-soo.

Driven by a strong sense of duty, she is convinced that the truth must be revealed at all costs. She keeps a close eye on the actions of the police while following the progress of the serial murder investigation.

Despite her unassuming figure, her character should establish herself as a strong presence, both as a journalist of integrity and as a loyal friend, deeply concerned by Kang Tae-joo's fate.

A character at the heart of the plot

The actress explained her reasons for joining the project: “The stories of those who are hurt, those who try to right these wrongs, and those who seek to cover it all up for their own gain are told with such intensity that I was immediately captivated.”

She also describes her character as someone who acts without hesitation: “Rather than standing back, she throws herself into situations. Even when the case gets bogged down, she keeps asking questions and stands by Kang Tae-joo, especially when he's going through a difficult time.”
