The drama “We Are All Trying Here”continues to reveal itself with new images highlighting its secondary cast and a group of friends at the heart of the story.
A tight-knit group of friends... except for one
The drama follows Hwang Dong-man (Koo Kyo-hwan), an aspiring director who, surrounded by successful friends, considers himself the only one whose life isn't moving forward.

The new images feature a group of 8 filmmakers from a former university club. Today, they've all become recognized industry figures... with the exception of Dong-man, who's been chasing his dream for 20 years without ever having started.

Complex relationships between rivalry and support
Among them is successful director Park Kyung-se (Oh Jung-se), who has an intense, ambiguous relationship with Dong-man. Despite his success, he remains deeply affected by her criticism.

Go Hye-jin (Kang Mal-geum), head of Gobak Films, is a strong, charismatic figure. While she tolerates Dong-man's long speeches, she doesn't hesitate to put him in his place when he crosses the line.

The group's oldest member, Park Young-soo (Jeon Bae-soo), plays a balancing role, alternating between advice, reassurance and refocusing.

Lee Jun-hwan (Sim Hee-sub) is the only one who truly understands Dong-man and looks out for him, while other members of the group, such as Lee Ki-ri (Bae Myung-jin), Woo Seung-tae (Jo Min-guk) and producer Choi Hyo-jin (Park Ye-ni), show weariness at his behavior.

A symbolic place for their tensions
The restaurant “Ajit”, run by Go Hye-jin, becomes their meeting place. It's here that jealousy, rivalry, friendship and reconciliation mingle, offering a realistic reflection of the world of cinema.

“We Are All Trying Here” will air from April 18 on jTBC and Netflix.
