Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin confirmed in new romantic comedy Take Charge of My Heart

On July 29, 2025, the news became official: Kim Young-kwang and Chae Soo-bin will headline Take Charge of My Hearta new romantic comedy broadcast exclusively on Netflix.

Based on the best-selling web novel Charge Me Up from Haebeonpromises to be as electrifying as it is original. The plot mixes romance and a touch of fantasy, following the story of Baek Ho-ranga man with an artificial heart on the verge of dying out, and of Na Bo-baea woman with electrical powers capable of recharging her heart... literally!

An unlikely duo for a fiery story

Kim Young-kwangknown for his roles in Trigger and On Your Wedding Daywill play Baek Ho-rangHo Rang, heir to one of Korea's largest chaebols, runs a resort belonging to one of the country's most powerful industrial groups. Behind his image of perfect leadership, Ho Rang hides a dark secret: an artificial heart that leaves him vulnerable. As he finds himself embroiled in an intense battle for control of the family business, he encounters Na Bo-baeperformed by Chae Soo-binthe only person who can save his heart by giving it a beneficial electrical charge.

Chae Soo-binwho has made a name for herself in series such as When the Phone Rings and The Fabulous, as Na Bo-baeBo Bae, a screenwriter in search of inspiration to complete her romance script before the end of her contract. After being struck by lightning as a child, Bo Bae lives with electricity coursing through her body, making physical contact with anyone she loves impossible, until she meets Ho Rang. Their connection is instantaneous, and the only man capable of touching her without risk... is him. And so begins their unlikely story, where love and electricity meet.
